SOUNDS OF TERROIR

Wine is traditionally experienced through sight, smell and taste: Sounds of Terroir explores a fourth sense, hearing. Led by the Strasbourg studio SEPPIA with director Sergey Tsoller and sound explorer François Delamarre, the project uses bioacoustics to capture the vibrations of Alsace’s soils, vines and cellars and turn them into original electronic music, contemplative for tastings or festive for techno nights. In partnership with the Comité Interprofessionnel des Vins d’Alsace, guardian of the 51 Alsace Grands Crus, this material will feed an album, a seven-episode documentary web series, live performances in vineyards and at partner festivals (including l’Ososphère), as well as a multisensory tasting set-up that can be deployed at wine estates and trade fairs.
