Led by Atelier CIRCULR, founded by R&D engineer Marion Roullet, in partnership with the design studio Atelier-Aile2, ChoCoffré is a case for carrying a bar of chocolate, made from a biodegradable material derived entirely from coffee waste (roasting chaff and grounds collected from cafés across the Eurometropolis). The project has three strands: developing in the laboratory a material that is compostable at the end of its life, designing a clean-lined case suited to small-scale craft production, and bringing together a network of local players (coffee roaster, chocolatier, laboratory, design studio, prototype maker) within a 30 km radius to guarantee a short supply chain.
