A playful, innovative object accessible to all, the SONar is a kind of sound cockpit that lets users rediscover their everyday surroundings and capture ambient sounds across the city. A digital system inside the cabin overlays testimonies and interpretations on these ambient sounds, based on an anthropological questionnaire shown on the interface. A true “submarine” of the city, the SONar lets people navigate, explore and reclaim the urban and suburban soundscapes of Strasbourg’s neighbourhoods.
