With the risk of drinking water shortages that could affect 88% of France by 2050, Oris is developing a “water intelligence” platform that turns patchy data from water catchment networks into concrete decisions for local elected officials. Autonomous, energy-efficient sensors continuously feed a hybrid analysis engine, combining statistical and neuro-symbolic methods, that can detect anomalies and anticipate pressures from six months to fifteen years ahead. Tested for two years in the rural municipality of Le Puid in the Vosges, the solution is aimed first and foremost at the 30,000 rural municipalities with fewer than 2,000 inhabitants, for whom conventional instrumentation remains out of reach (up to €150,000, compared with around €1,500 a year with Oris). The project is led by engineer Markus Ackermann and a local elected official, with ROSEAU as technical partner.
