Les ateliers DÉTOUR

Led by Manivelle, a Strasbourg brand founded in 2018 by Silvin and Thomas that specialises in handcrafting bespoke bicycles and accessories made in France, in partnership with the creative third place Les Ateliers Éclairés, the Ateliers DÉTOUR aim to bring do-it-yourself to everyone around the bicycle. Through metalwork and textile workshops, they turn an everyday object often seen as opaque into a source of inspiration and experimentation, passing on know-how that enables participants to design and make their own accessories. The approach seeks to support the growth of cycling in a healthy way, by training informed users rather than simply benefiting a polluting, globalised industry.
