La Trousse à Pixels

Created in 2019 by the No Limit Orchestra, founded in Strasbourg by the conductor Frédéric Durrmann, in partnership with Almédia and the photographer and musician Grégory Massat, La Trousse à Pixels enables primary and lower secondary school children to create their own video game from start to finish, at school or in community and cultural centres. The children develop the pitch and the level design, draw the characters and settings, then use the sound-painting technique to compose a soundtrack for the game, supported by a creative designer and a visiting musician. Almédia handles the technical finishing, and a public presentation is held in a landmark cultural venue where the games can be tried out, fostering musical awareness and responsible use of digital technology.
