Faire Face (nom provisoire)
As climate and health crises multiply, the civic potential of fablabs and third places (making face shields during Covid, solar kits or water filters) remains little recognised and poorly integrated into crisis management protocols. The studio Les Enjoueurs (Artenréel), together with the Réseau français des fablabs (RFFLabs) and the Cybergrange, is developing Faire Face, a serious board game simulating a range of crises (flooding, fire, pandemic) to explore how these places can play a part in local mutual aid. Designed with feedback from experts at the Red Cross and emergency doctors from the APHP, the game is intended as a modular “toolbox”, which can be made in a fablab or as a print & play, and shared under a Creative Commons licence so that it can be adapted by the network of more than 100 member venues of RFFLabs.
