ENTRE DEUX EAUX
Led by designer Téophil Lemaitre with Nature et Techniques as lead partner, Entre deux eaux explores how to restore urban riverbanks weakened by erosion, soil sealing and climate pressure without fixing them in place or erasing their natural dynamics. The project proposes woven, reversible and biodegradable structures, assembled from local materials, which support plant regrowth, slow water flows locally, encourage sediment deposition and create micro-habitats. Installed and tested at the pilot site on Île Stella in Strasbourg from September 2026 to May 2027, the system aims to demonstrate the technical, ecological and social feasibility of a replicable method, before it is offered to local authorities, river management bodies and natural area managers as a professional environmental design service.
