Climatiseur Adiabitique
With summers getting ever hotter, particularly in Strasbourg, this project offers a virtuous response to overheating homes: a handcrafted ceramic adiabatic cooler, made from clay using an innovative 3D printing process. Ceramics were chosen for their thermal and absorbent qualities, but also for their roots in local cultures, which the project revives in a contemporary form. The object is designed for dual use, including a lighting function, so that it fits easily into the home. Driven by a collaboration between designer Camille Morin (Atelier Bascule) and ceramicist Emmanuelle Giora, the project is aimed at residents who care about ecological issues as well as lovers of craft and design, reconciling usefulness, beauty and environmental responsibility.
